Your busy day ends and you wind down and relax on the couch watching reality shows all night. We all need those nights sometimes, but what if this happens every single night?
There is a life next to work as well, and we should put equal amounts in that personal life as well. Working to grow, develop, and be happy.
Relaxing doesn’t only mean laying on the couch doing nothing. It’s taking a step back from the stress and chaos around us. This means we can still do things that add to life and can be highly beneficial in the long run.
Here’s a list of things to do before you go to bed.
Educational/Development
- Read a book
- Read an article
- Watch a documentary
- Write in your journal
- Write a chapter of your book that’s coming out one day
- Write down your goals
- Create a plan to achieve those goals
Prepare
- Prepare your outfit for the next day
- Pack your bag for the next day
- Prepare next days’ lunch
- Set your alarm
- Put your phone out of reach, so you can’t snooze in the morning and regret that awfully early alarm you set.
- Make your to-do list for the next day
Clean
- Do the dishes
- Clean countertops and tables
- Tidy before sleeping. Put dishes away and take every item where it belongs.
