Sooooo, it’s been a while since i posted something. After i had exams in the beginning of november, i got in a huge slump. It is normal for me and i think a lot of other people to have that after exams or something else that you get done finally, but it lasted a lot longer than i intented. I just didn’t want to do anything and got a little down by that. But i’m trying to get back on track, so here i am catching up with blogging after a month of no posts. It is really hard for me to pick things up, i am a real quitter.
But let’s get on with it! I got some books! And not normal books, Christmas books!! I love Christmas, so i’m already getting really exciting for it. I am at the moment listening to Christmas music, at the moment Last Christmas by Wham! is blasting. I should stop it, it only makes me more crazy for Christmas, ha!
I figured out that i needed some books based around Christmas and winter for the most wonderful time of the year. Last year i bought Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle and i really enjoyed it. This year i bought 3 books that i really wanted to have and now is the perfect time to get them before december.
Dash & Lily’s Book Of Dares – Rachel Cohn & David Levithan
‘Lily has left a red notebook full of challenges on her favorite bookstore shelf, waiting for just the right guy to come along and accept its dares. Dash, in a bad oood during the holidays, happens to be the first guy to pick up the notebook and rise to its chalenges. What follows is a whirlwind romance as Dash and Lily trade dares, dreams and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations al across New York City. But can their in-person selves possible connect as well as their notebook versions, or will their scavenger hunt end in a comic mismatch of disastrous proportions?’
This book was high om my list to buy. It just sounds like a book to really get the spirits up and get a Christmas feeling.
The Christmas Train – David Baldacci
‘Disillusioned journalist Tom Langdon must get from Washington, D.C., to L.A. in time for Christmas. Forced to travel by train, he begins a journey of rude awakenings, thrilling adventures, and holiday magic. He has no idea that the locomotives pulling him across
America will actually take him into the rugged terrain of his own heart, as he rediscovers people’s essential goodness and someone very special he believed he had lost.’
The cover basically did it for me. I mean, look at it! it brings me in the spirit. He writes a lot of thrillers, which i read a lot, so i am very curious about this book.
A Christmas Carol – Charles Dickens
‘Ebenezer Scrooge is a mean an miserly man, who cares nothing for Christmas and the joys of the festive season. But that all changes on the night he is visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley, who comes wearing the chain of woe he forged with a life full of penny-pinching, and with a warning on his lips…’
I had to get this one. And the edition is bought has beautiful illustrations, which i can really appreciate. Just a classic i had to get.
Well, these are the books i got for the Christmas time. I can’t wait to have the Christmas tree up and sit in the living room all day with the Christmas lights on being all cozied up. Currently Merry Christmas Everyone from Shakin’ Stevens is blasting in my room. Nice one to end with.
